Crowns can be described as a “shell/cap” that covers the entire tooth.  Crowns are indicated when decay in a tooth is so extensive that the restoration is larger than the remaining tooth structure, the tooth is cracked, or the tooth has undergone root canal treatment. Other indications for crowns include fractured teeth, teeth with large fillings, aesthetics or a number of functional reasons. In most cases, we can use our latest Cerec technology to fabricate your crown same day while you wait. This eliminates messy impressions, the need to wear a temporary crown, and an additional visit.
